Terms and Conditions of Participation
These are the official Terms and Conditions of Participation for the ‘International Music Prize for Excellence in Performance 2011’, a worldwide competition for instrumental and vocal performers. The competition is administered by the National Academy of Music, a public educational charity of the State of Colorado, and is organized by the Secretariat of the International Music Prizes™ in Greece.
By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of the Academy which are final in all matters relating to the competition. The Academy reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if the Academy has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.
The competition begins March 1, 2011, and ends October 1, 2011. There is no limit to the number of entrants. Each entry consists of an online entry form, a video-recorded audition and an entry fee. All entry materials must be submitted electronically through this website. Entries cannot be revised, supplemented or withdrawn after submission.
Entrants may submit as many entries as they wish, but each entry constitutes a separate submission and requires its own online entry form, video-recorded audition and entry fee (the ‘entry’). Entry materials will not be returned to entrants.
The competition is open to instrumental and vocal performers of all ages and nationalities. Minor entrants, under the legal age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, must have a parent’s or legal guardian’s permission to participate in the competition.
By entering the competition, all entrants:
By entering the competition, all entrants agree to release, discharge, and hold harmless the National Academy of Music and its partners, affiliates, agents, sponsors and their employees, officers, directors, and representatives from any claims, losses, and damages arising out of their participation in this competition or any competition-related activities and the acceptance and use, misuse, or possession of any prize awarded hereunder.
The Academy reserves the right to verify the validity and originality of any entry and/or entrant (including an entrant’s identity and address) and to disqualify any entrant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these official rules or who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Academy to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
Entries void if the Academy determines the submission to not be an original, or if the entries are illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, produced in error or obtained through fraud or theft or otherwise non-compliant with these official rules.
The Academy does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to the Internet or postal service.
If for any reason the competition is not capable of running as planned, due to technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of the Academy that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this competition, the Academy reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the competition. If the Academy elects to cancel or terminate the competition, the Academy will return the fees submitted with each entry.
Winners’ names will be available online at http://www.musicprizes.com/ after December 10, 2011. The Academy’s decision as to who the winners will be is final and binding, not subject to appeal and no correspondence will be entered into. In the event of the adjudicators deciding that no suitable entries were received for any of the prizes, then prizes may not be awarded.
Entrants agree that personal data, especially name and address, will be used by the Academy exclusively for the purposes and within the context of this competition. The data may be used by the Academy in order to verify the entrant’s identity. Entrants have the right to access, review, rectify, or cancel any personal data held by the Academy by writing to the Secretariat of the International Music Prizes™. Entrants’ street and e-mail addresses and telephone numbers will not be disclosed or made publicly available.
The competition is void where prohibited by Law.
